Solar Panels
Our OEM solar panels are
manufactured to the highest quality with MCS accreditation and a 20
year warranty against the quoted efficiency rating.

We use Monocrystalline
panels, the most common panels in use today.
Crystalline solar cells are connected together in series to create
solar panels. Each cell produces a voltage of just over half a volt.
36 individual cells would be required to produce an unconnected
voltage of approx 20 Volts. Monocrystalline cells have a slightly higher efficiency than
polycrystalline cells but in real world applications there is little
practical difference between them.
Monocrystalline solar panels use solar cells made from a very pure
single large crystal. They are usually blue-grey in colour and have a
fairly uniform consistency.

Grid Tie Inverters
Green
Power Components offer a range of Kinglong New Energy (KLNE) Sunteams
range of G83 approved Grid Tie Inverters from
1500W to 5000W. These highly efficient inverters, in conjunction with
MCS approved PV (Solar
photovoltaic)
panels, will provide an "on Grid" solution for generating electricity
for domestic use or directed back into the national grid for purchase
by a utility company under the Feed In Tariff
scheme.

Low volume prices available on application. Retail prices available
through Caravan & Leisure Technology 5 year warranty as standard. 10 year & 20 year extended warranty available on
request.
Solar photovoltaic (PV)
Solar photovoltaic (PV)
systems work in a similar way to the solar cells sometimes found on a
calculator. The system uses the sun’s energy to create electricity. A
system can be designed to either supplement your existing electricity supply or provide the sole source of electricity for appropriate
electrical equipment. The sunnier the position the more electricity that
can be generated. This often, but not always, means positioning the panels
on a south facing roof. Solar photovoltaic systems can be installed on
both new and existing properties. Our partner installers, who are all MCS
accredited, will survey your
property and advise you about the best position to take full advantage of
your potential solar energy. A well positioned 1kW peak power system will
generate between 700 and 850 kWh of electricity per year. 1 unit of
electricity is equal to 1 kilowatt hour (kWh).
Feed-in Tariff
The Feed-in Tariff has been introduced by the Government to increase the
level of renewable energy in the UK towards our target of 15% of total
energy from renewables by 2020 (up from under 2% in 2009)
4kw/p (retrofit) - 43.3p per kWh
4kw/p (new build) - 37.8p per kWh
The above will be paid for 25 years from April 2010.
They are tax-free for
domestic properties and are indexed linked to the Retail Price Index to
protect from inflation. E.g. Installing a 1-4kW system on an existing
house in 2010 would mean the customer would lock-in to the 43.3p per unit
(kWh) payment for 25 years, indexed linked to RPI and tax-free.
